DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN HUÁNUCO – HUÁNUCO CITY TOUR / KOTOSH

Reception at the bus terminal and transfer to the selected hotel.

Visit to the Plaza de Armas; the modern Cathedral, home to the "Señor de Burgos" (Lord of Burgos), King and Patron Saint of Huánuco; the Church of San Cristóbal, the oldest in the city of Huánuco; the Church of San Francisco; and the Calicanto Bridge, constructed using lime, river stones, and egg whites.

Visit to the Kotosh Archaeological Center, home to the famous "Temple of the Crossed Hands" (dating back over 4,000 years), and a view of the Quillarumi rock formation. Quillarumi rock paintings (optional).

Visit to the Artisans' House.

Overnight stay in Huánuco.


DAY 02: GARU MONUMENTAL CITADEL

Breakfast.

Departure for the district of Choras (75 km); passing through Ayapitej, we will observe an impressive rock formation known as "La Corona del Inca" (The Inca's Crown/Lacshahuarina). Continuing through Llicllatambo, we will view the majestic Huayhuash mountain range. Upon arriving in Choras, we will hike along a trail built by the Yaros (a pre-Inca civilization) to reach the monumental citadel of Garu. There, we will explore its passageways and structures, such as the Temple of the Three Crosses, the Seven Windows, the Twin Towers, the viewpoint, and more.

Lunch (not included).

Overnight stay in Huánuco.


DAY 03: TANTAMAYO SKYSCRAPERS

Breakfast.

Departure to the enigmatic skyscrapers of the Yarowilca Kingdom, located three hours from the city (158 km) in the Tantamayo Valley, Huamalíes. We visit an area covering 65 km², home to approximately 81 archaeological sites, most notably Piruro (3,800 meters above sea level) and Susupillo (4,000 meters above sea level). Transfer to Huánuco Pampa.

Overnight stay in La Unión.


DAY 04: WANUCO MARKA

Breakfast.

Morning departure for the monumental citadel of Wanuco Marka. This archaeological site dates back to the Inca era and served as the capital of Chinchaysuyo. The original settlement of Huánuco was founded at this very site. Return to La Unión. City tour of La Unión, visiting the historic Mariscal Cáceres Bridge, the viewpoint, the church, and more. Visit to the medicinal hot springs of Tauripampa.

Return to Huánuco.
